While the loss of parents to AIDS has placed a heavy burden on Uganda’s elderly, the Nyaka Grandmother Project has been a beacon of hope, providing these women with vital resources and opportunities to rebuild their lives and provide for their families. Established by Dr. Jackson Kaguri as part of the Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project, the Nyaka Grandmother Project is dedicated to supporting the grandmothers who are raising a generation of children orphaned by HIV/AIDS.
